Privacy Policy
Effective Date: July 5, 2026
MALUK Games ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Android mobile application Molekule (the "Game"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you play our Game, as well as how third-party services integrated into the Game handle your data.
By downloading and playing the Game, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
1. Information We Collect (Gameplay Analytics)
Through our proprietary systems, we do not collect any personal data, such as your name, email address, phone number, persistent device hardware identifiers (like IMEI), or precise physical location. To help us improve the game, we only collect anonymous gameplay analytics data.
- Ephemeral Session ID: Every time you launch the Game, a completely unique, randomized ID is generated for that specific gameplay session. This ID automatically resets the next time you open the app. It does not contain any personal information and cannot be used to identify you or track your device over time.
- Gameplay Analytics: During your play session, we collect data about how you interact with the Game, including:
- How long it takes you to complete a level.
- Whether you use a hint.
- How many levels you play in a single session.
- Game crashes or technical errors.
2. Information Collected by Third Parties (Advertising)
To keep the Game free to play, we use Google AdMob to display banner advertisements. Depending on your region and the consent you provide, Google and its advertising partners may collect and process certain information to serve ads and evaluate their effectiveness.
- What Google AdMob may collect: IP addresses, non-precise location data, and mobile advertising identifiers (such as the Android Advertising ID).
- Personalized Ads: If you provide explicit consent (applicable in regions like the EEA/UK under GDPR) or do not opt-out (in US states under applicable laws), AdMob may use these identifiers to show ads tailored to your interests.
- Non-Personalized Ads: If you decline consent or opt-out, ads will still be displayed, but they will not be based on your past behavior. AdMob will only use contextual information and limited local storage strictly necessary for ad delivery and frequency capping.
For more information on how Google collects and uses your data, please review Google's Privacy & Terms regarding Partner Sites.
3. How We Use Information
We use the collected data for the following purposes:
- To Improve the Game: To balance level difficulty, fix bugs, and understand which features players enjoy the most based on our anonymous analytics.
- To Serve Advertisements: To fund the development of the Game by allowing Google AdMob to display banner ads.
4. Consent Management and Privacy Settings
We use the Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) to gather and manage your privacy choices regarding both third-party advertising and our anonymous analytics.
- Your Choices: Upon your first launch of the Game (and periodically thereafter depending on your region), you will be presented with a privacy consent form. You can choose to accept or decline the processing of your data for specific purposes.
- Enforcement: If you do not consent to data collection in the privacy form, we will automatically disable our custom analytics, and Google AdMob will restrict its data processing accordingly.
- Managing Consent: You can review, change, or revoke your privacy choices at any time by accessing the Privacy Settings directly from the Game's main menu.
5. Data Storage and Sharing
- Our Analytics: Your anonymous session data is sent directly to and stored securely on our own database infrastructure powered by Pocketbase. We do not sell, trade, or share your gameplay analytics data with third-party advertising networks or external analytics companies.
- Advertising Data: Data collected by Google AdMob is handled and stored by Google and its certified partners in accordance with their respective privacy policies.
6. Children's Privacy
To tailor advertising and protect privacy, the Game verifies the user's age at launch to ensure content is displayed safely to children, in accordance with Google Play requirements and COPPA/GDPR regulations.
Our Game does not knowingly collect any personal information from children. Because our internal analytics only collect anonymous gameplay data tied to a temporary, randomized session ID, and because we manage advertising consent through age-appropriate gates, our data collection complies with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
7. Data Deletion
Because a new random ID is generated on every Game launch, past internal gameplay data is completely detached from your device the moment you close the app. As a result, our internal analytics data is truly anonymous, and we have no technical way to identify, isolate, or delete past data records for a specific player upon request.
To stop all future data collection entirely, you can revoke consent via the in-game Privacy Settings menu or uninstall the Game.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Effective Date" at the top. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
