I worked on the story for some time now. It's big, it has meaningful characters and it is very detailed with a universe that just makes sense. I played some bigger prototype levels, imagining the stuff I would do in full game and... it doesn't fit. This game project just isn't build properly for this, the characters looked boring and without emotions in my opinion.

So I showed the prototype to my friends (again) and they said the same thing I was thinking.

It looks good, but will it not be boring?

In my head it was working, but on paper it just wasn't the thing I wanted to achieve in-game.

I went to bed and fell asleep. The next day, after my everyday job I sat on the couch and turned on the TV. Few Youtube videos played and then some educational video turned on... rats in a maze.

That was it. I saw rats from top-down view in a maze - and boom, my head exploded with ideas.

The game needs to be top-down! Not side-view!

So I did not finish that educational video (maybe I should), got to my PC and started redesigning the world. Got my character to move in X and Z and jump on the Y axis, placed a plane with ground texture and some objects.

With hope I pressed Build & Play and... it was okay, but not amazing.

The 2D bone animations just did not give the vibe I was looking for in this game project.

I said before "boom, my head exploded with ideas" and yes it wasn't just the top-down view. The idea was to change my characters to 3D models.

Wish me luck!
